Last week a report came out that the Minnesota Vikings were actively shopping Laquon Treadwell and Mike Zimmer all but confirmed that on Sunday night. The Vikings gave Treadwell some extra playing time against the Seattle Seahawks and when asked why after the game, Zimmer said they were just trying to showcase him.

“We were trying to get Treadwell the ball a little bit more in the second half, try to showcase him a little bit, I guess. And he made some nice plays,” Zimmer said via Pro Football Talk.

Treadwell is entering the last year of his rookie deal after the Vikings turned down the fifth-year option. Chad Beebe has taken over the third wide receiver role and after three disappointing seasons, it's clear the Vikings are ready to move on.

It's unclear if there are teams that are interested in trading for him, but maybe some team thinks some new scenery is all he needs to revive his NFL career.

Treadwell has taken all the trade rumors in stride saying that he actually is enjoying being the underdog.

“I’ve been in this situation before and it’s actually kind of fun,” Treadwell said, via the Pioneer Press. “It’s kind of fun like being the underdog. Nothing to really expect, so when you go out there you can just play free and kind of just prove yourself. Over the last past few years I haven’t played up to that potential, so there’s other guys who weren’t drafted and have played better than me, so over time things changed. Now it’s time for me to prove myself.

It's unclear if the Vikings can't find a trade partner if they will release him on cutdown day but even if he makes the team, he is going to be buried on the depth chart.
