The Minnesota Vikings fell just one game short of playing in the Super Bowl at their own stadium last season. But before bowing out to the eventual champion Philadelphia Eagles, their playoff run still provided an unforgettable moment in the “Minneapolis Miracle,” which sent them to the NFC Championship Game.

That incredible play took home the “Best Moment” award at the 2018 ESPYs, topping the Las Vegas Knights going to the Stanley Cup Final and No. 16 UMBC upsetting No. 1 Virginia in March Madness, which were the other two nominees.

Then-Vikings quarterback Case Keenum, who is now with the Denver Broncos, and Stefon Diggs got to reunite to accept the award.

Down 24-23 to the New Orleans Saints with just 10 seconds in regulation, Keenum was able to connect with Diggs, who evaded the tackle of a Saints safety and stayed inbounds on the sideline to score the dramatic walk-off touchdown.

The “Minneapolis Miracle” will go down in history as one of the most incredible plays, not just in Vikings franchise history, but in NFL history as a whole. It made a cool bit of history as it was the first-ever walk-off touchdown to end an NFL postseason game in regulation.

While a case could be made that UMBC being the first-ever No. 16 seed to win in the NCAA Tournament should’ve won Best Moment, the sheer ecstasy of the crowd in U.S. Bank Stadium and everyone watching all across the state of Minneapolis when the “Miracle” happened makes it a deserving winner as well.
