After another bad performance by the Minnesota Vikings offense on Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks, the team has decided to move on from offensive coordinator John DeFilippo according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Vikings offense had all kinds of issues moving the ball and didn't get their first points until the game was already out of reach.

The Vikings offense is ranked 16th this year in total offense which isn't terrible, but a lot of the good performances came early in the season. Over the last two games they have only scored 17 points total, and over the last six games, they haven't scored more than 24 points. After Monday's game, Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen said the blame can't go on DeFilippo and rather it needs to be passed on to the offensive players.

“You hear the offensive coordinator (John DeFilippo) is getting a lot of ridicule, but it’s about the players,” wide receiver Adam Thielen said via The Pioneer Press. “The players have got to make the plays. It doesn’t matter what play is called, you have to run that play and you have to be successful on it. It just comes down to execution, all 11 players doing the right thing.’’

DeFilippo was hired by the Vikings from the Philadelphia Eagles after Pat Shurmur took the New York Giants head coaching job. There was some talk about DeFilippo getting a head coaching job after this season if he had a good season with the Vikings but that seems to be on hold for now.
