Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen has been battling an ankle injury throughout the season and it seems he managed to reaggravated it on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. During the second quarter, Thielen went down clutching his ankle after being tackled. He was ultimately able to walk off the field under his own power, but went immediately into the blue medical tent. According to ESPN, Thielen is officially listed as questionable to return to the game.

This is extremely troubling for the Vikings, considering Thielen is a vital part of their offensive game plan. The 31-year-old missed the Vikings' previous two games while nursing the ankle, but his return to action on Sunday was cut short after he reaggravated his ailment.

Thielen caught a pass from Kirk Cousins in the second quarter but hurt the ankle after being tackled by Rams safety Taylor Rapp. Prior to his departure from the game, Thielen had recorded two receptions on two targets for 42 yards. The Vikings will hope to get their star wideout back before this game wraps up, but considering this is a lingering injury it may not be feasible for Thielen to risk further injury.

On the season Thielen has recorded 64 receptions for 686 yards and 10 touchdowns, having featured in 12 games for the Vikings. He's the team's second-leading receiver, having been targeted 92 times on the season, and has scored the most touchdowns among receivers on the Vikings.

With Thielen on the sideline and his return up in the air, the Vikings will hope to mount a second-half comeback against the Rams in his stead.
