The Minnesota Vikings are coming off one of their most successful seasons in recent memory. The team led by a stout defense and a resurgent veteran quarterback was able to defy the odds and reach the NFC Championship Game. Unfortunately, the team fell short to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, but the future is bright as long as their secure some of the squad's best players long-term.

Along with bringing in Kirk Cousins to be their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future, the team wants to keep their current roster intact. Vikings brass, namely executive vice president of football operations, Rob Brzezinski, aims to sign some of the team's best players on both sides of the football to lucrative contracts this NFL offseason, via Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The team still is hoping to sign core players Anthony Barr, Danielle Hunter and Stefon Diggs to lucrative deals.

All three of their players were vital to the team's success during the 2017 campaign, and it's clear that the Vikings brass want to keep them in Minnesota. Although that is the goal, it will be no easy task as Brzezinski openly admits, via Scoggins.

“I would be lying if I said you don’t feel some pressure,” Brzezinski said, “because you want to be able to keep this team together and keep all your best players.”

If Brzezinski and company can keep this talented team intact, the Vikings will likely continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC for many years to come. It remains to be seen whether Cousins is the right fit under center or is last season's success will carry over to 2018, but Minnesota seems to be on the right track moving forward.
