Randy Moss is known for a lot of things throughout his NFL career, but one of the most infamous happened on January 9th, 2005 during a playoff game at Lambeau Field. Moss caught a touchdown during the 4th quarter of the Minnesota Vikings wild card game against the Green Bay Packers. For his touchdown celebration, he went over to the goalpost and pretended to pull down his pants and moon the crowd.

During a press conference call on Monday talking about his upcoming Hall of Fame induction, Moss was asked about the Lambeau Moon. Moss said he didn't really understand why he got so much heat and was just trying to have some fun with the fans, and that Packer fans would often moon the team bus. Moss also said that he wouldn't change it if he had to go back in time.

“I don’t put the Lambeau Moon as far as a celebration because it was just more for the fans,” Moss said via 247 Sports. “I think now that I reflect and look back, I played in that – working on ESPN, it may be a Monday or Sunday night and they’re talking about the battle of the border, I played in that.”

“… It was just the fans having their fun. I didn’t know it was going to really get that type of negative attention or of course I wouldn’t have done nothing like that. No, I’ve never done nothing like that in my career, but it’s not like I pulled my pants down or anything like that. But, like I said, if I had to do it all over, I wouldn’t change it.”

Moss goes on to speak glowingly about the Packers-Vikings rivalry as a whole and what impact it had on him personally. He sure did his part to produce one of the most defining moments of that fierce rivalry with his so-called “disgusting act” as Joe Buck so eloquently put it. Amid all his incredible achievements in his Hall of Fame career, Moss can proudly say he made one heck of a mark with that one moon.
