Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook played in just 24 of his team's 54 offensive snaps during the Vikings' loss to the Seattle Seahawks this past Monday after taking a hit to the chest, but it doesn't appear the issue will keep Cook out in Week 14.

With Minnesota set to battle the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Cook has not been given an injury designation, an indication that he will be good to go this weekend, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“I don’t think this thing can get any worse,” Cook said earlier in the week, per Courtney Cronin of ESPN. “I just think us being smart about it on Monday night was the best thing for what we have going forward. That was the best thing, to shut it down on Monday night, so I can be ready to roll on Sunday.”

Cook is a vital piece in what has mostly been a potent Vikings offense this season.

In 12 games, the third-year back has rushed for 1,046 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging 4.7 yards per carry. In addition, he as logged 48 catches for 490 yards.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Florida State, was originally selected by Minnesota in the second round (41st pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Knee injuries limited him to just 15 games combined during his first couple of seasons, with a torn ACL knocking him out after only four games during his rookie campaign.

However, when Cook was on the field, his potential was obvious.

The Vikings are 8-4 and are in sole possession of the second Wild Card spot in the NFC.
