The Minnesota Vikings routed the Miami Dolphins by a score of 41-17 on Sunday afternoon to maintain their hold on the second and final Wild Card spot in the NFC.

Running back Dalvin Cook had a banner day, rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns.

Afterward, he spoke with Deion Sanders and explained how much the team loves playing for new offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski, via the Vikings' official Twitter account:

“It's been in the locker room. It's been here the whole time,” said Cook of why it took so long for the offense to finally click. “We, us as players, I'm just glad we stuck together and kept it as a real as we could because we could have easily said ‘we lost our offensive coordinator. It's over. You know, let's try again next year.' But we got an offensive coordinator that understands where we're coming from and that believes in us 100 percent and we're going to go out there and go balls to the wall every play for him.”

Stefanski took over as offensive coordinator after Minnesota fired John DeFilippo following the Vikings' anemic offensive performance in a 21-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks last week.

The 41 points the Vikings scored against the Dolphins was the most they had posted all season. Prior to Sunday's victory, Minnesota had scored 30 points only twice, with the last occurrence coming in a win over the New York Jets on Oct. 21.

The Vikings will head on the road to take on the Detroit Lions next week before returning home to play host to the Chicago Bears in the final game of the season on Dec. 30.
