The Minnesota Vikings have finally managed to get back on track in the 2018 NFL season with three consecutive wins. It appears wide receiver Stefon Diggs is well-aware of the reason behind their recent success.

The Vikings defense has started to look like its formidable self over the last several weeks. According to ESPN's Courtney Cronin, Diggs says the offense feeds off what the defense gives them:

“Defense is back to doing them,” wide receiver Stefon Diggs said. “It’s no surprise. We’ve had some games where we’ve got to do our job, too. Just like this game, when they give us a turnover, we’ve got to get points, we’ve got to score. When the defense gets a turnover, the only way you take advantage of the opportunity is scoring.”

Minnesota's offense was certainly able to do just that against the New York Jets. The Vikings' defense made life miserable for quarterback Sam Darnold. The rookie fell victim to their hounding pressure as he completed just 17-of-42 passes for 206 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions. This allowed the offense to score a season-high 37 points against a talented Jets defense.

There are a number of reasons that have factored into their success on defense. However, it is clear that their depth has played a huge role. Defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson and Stephen Weatherly have stepped up huge in place of Linval Joseph and Everson Griffin. Fortunately, it appears Griffin has returned to practice and could soon be ready for action.

The defense has had the benefit of finding its footing against a couple of rookie quarterbacks over the last two games. However, that will change this Sunday when they square off against quarterback Drew Brees and the high-powered Saints offense on primetime.
