Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson said that he would like to play his former team, the Minnesota Vikings in the playoffs and knock them out. His former teammate Stefon Diggs didn't seem to be surprised by the comments and said with a smile that it sounded just like AP.

“That sounds like A.P.,” Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs recently told the #PFTPM podcast. “That sounds like something A.P. would say. I haven’t thought about the Redskins. I don’t know if [former Washington quarterback] Kirk [Cousins] has, that’s something you have to take up with him. But that comment is so A.P. If we make it down there and we see them, it’ll definitely be exciting.”

Some made a lot out of Peterson's comments but in those same comments, he also talked about how much he respected the guys, and how much he still loved Minnesota. It really isn't shocking though that Peterson would want to knock his former team out, because that means it would be one step closer to winning a Super Bowl, something he was never able to do in Minnesota.

Peterson said he doesn't quite think the team is ready to make a run in the playoffs yet, but with a big second half they will be ready.

“Yeah, definitely,” Peterson said via Pro Football Talk. “I don’t think we’re there yet, but I know that we have all the tools and the potential to be that championship team. This second half is going to be really critical for us to mold and get things going and then start that run.”

Both of these teams still have some work to do before the playoffs come around, but no doubt a game between these two teams would be fun.
