Veteran Minnesota Vikings cornerback Terence Newman is not yet ready to declare whether this season would be his last in the NFL. Speaking with Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press, the 39-year-old cornerback did not give any clear signs with regards to his future in the league.

“When I’m done, nobody will know it,” Newman said. “I’ll be off into the sunset.”

Newman is one of the oldest players in the league. Only New England Patriots linebacker James Harrison is the older non-specialist player in the NFL than Newman, who’s playing on a one-year, $3.25 million contract with the Vikings.

This is the third season in a row of one-year contracts for Newman, who has played for Minnesota since 2015. In three seasons with the Vikings, Newman has collected five interceptions and 110 tackles.

Newman spent his first nine seasons in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, who selected him as the fifth overall pick out of Kansas State back in the 2003 NFL Draft. After two Pro-Bowl selections in 2007 and 2009, Newman was released by the Cowboys in 2012, but was later signed by the Cincinnati Bengals and played for the team for three seasons.

If the Vikings win it all this season, it’s going to be a great time for Newman to hang up his cleats to spend more time with his family.
