The New York Jets have a tough task ahead of them in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings offense that appears to be hitting stride after grabbing their second straight win. A major part of that has been the play of Pro Bowl wide receiver Adam Thielen performing like the best wide receiver in the league. When asked about how teams are covering Thielen this season, Jets head coach Todd Bowles had a quick-witted response to that question, according to Eric Allen of Newyorkjets.com.

It has certainly appeared like no opposing team has been able to effectively cover Thielen through the first six games of the season as he has been playing some of the best football of his career. He currently has 58 catches for 712 receiving yards and four touchdowns over that stretch will compiling more than 100 receiving yards in each game this season. In fact, he has become the first player in the NFL since 1961 to reach that mark.

Thielen is also on pace to finish with the second-most receiving yards (1,899) in a single season in NFL history, which in itself speaks to how impressive this start to the 2018 campaign has been. He has quickly built a strong connection in the passing game with Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins that has been a huge staple in the offensive game plan. There has simply been no answer for him against any opposing defense as he has quickly become one of the top big-play wide receivers in the NFL behind his crisp route running and sound skill at the position.

He could be in store for another strong outing against the Jets, who currently rank 23rd against the pass this season. Aside from that, these comments speak to how much respect that Thielen has earned around the league for his continued stellar play on the field that he has taken to the next level this season. Todd Bowles hopes his Jets can do what every other team has failed at, by covering Thielen.
