The upcoming return of the 2020 NFL season in light of the coronavirus pandemic has obviously meant major changes for all teams. The Minnesota Vikings are one of the first teams to restructure their team facility to brace the new normal moving forward.

With football action looming around the corner, teams have started to ramp up their preparations. Parts of the facilities are going to be converted into COVID swabbing test booths for the players and coaches. Several disinfectants are also going to be sprayed around the facility and on the pieces of equipment as a safety precautionary measure.

The Minnesota Vikings hope to build upon their 10-6 finish in the 2019 season. They finished second in the NFC North, trailing behind the Green Bay Packers who finished with a 13-3 record. The team went on to march in the 2019 playoffs but fell to the hands of eventual Super Bowl finalists San Francisco 49ers on a 27-10 loss.

The Vikings will aim to make a deeper run in the playoffs even with the departure of star wideout Stefon Diggs who walked away during the offseason.

Despite the ongoing conversations between the league and the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA), the season is most likely looking to push through amidst the coronavirus pandemic. These safety protocols will help mitigate the spreading of the dreaded virus once football operations resume. All NFL teams' training camps are set to open on July 28 in preparation for the upcoming season.
