The Minnesota Vikings have established a strong locker room the last few years and this year it doesn't appear to be any different. This offseason Kirk Cousins was brought in to be the starter and Trevor Siemian was brought in to be his backup. Siemian has been impressed early on with what he has seen from his starter and how he has been able to earn everyone's respect.

“He’s a pro. He’s a leader and it’s cool to be around somebody like that. … Just who he is as a person, it’s been an easy transition seeing him earn the respect of everybody,” Siemian said per Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Leadership has always come naturally for Cousins but even he admits that when he came to Minnesota he didn't know how long he should wait to try and lead the group. He quickly learned that the locker room was ready for him to leave and he took it from there.

“My question coming in was, how long do I sit back and watch and listen and learn before I then start to act like a starting quarterback,” Cousins said via ESPN. “That I was trying to communicate in the spring was I was surprised by how much my teammates gave me that license to lead quickly. I thought they were going to want to have me prove myself a little bit longer than maybe I had to. They were very supportive and said, ‘No, man. It's your show. Let's go.”

The Vikings have all the pieces in place to make another special run this year and a lot will come down to the success of their leader, Cousins.
