Adam Thielen was limited in Wednesday's practice with the Minnesota Vikings due to an ankle injury. According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Thielen needed stitches for a cut on his ankle that he sustained during a practice earlier in the week.

Thielen can't seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries this season. The veteran wideout was dealing with a nagging hamstring ailment during the regular season that sidelined him for six games in 2019.

Now, Thielen is nursing an ankle injury ahead of Saturday's showdown with the San Francisco 49ers. While Thielen's injury isn't expected to keep him out for an extended period of time, the Vikings are going to be cautious with him as the week progresses.

Last week, Thielen came up big for Minnesota against the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Wild Card round. The reliable pass-catcher finished the game with seven receptions for 129 yards.

Those numbers are mighty impressive when you consider he missed five of the last seven games for the Vikings. Despite not getting a touchdown, Thielen made his presence felt against the Saints.

Of course, his most crucial catch was a 43-yard reception from Kirk Cousins. As a result, Minnesota advanced the ball to the two-yard line and scored the game-winning touchdown three plays later.

For the second straight week, the Vikings are expected to be on the losing end versus the 49ers. If Minnesota hopes to achieve another upset in the postseason, they are going to need a healthy version of Thielen available on Saturday.
