The Minnesota Vikings got an outstanding performance from Dalvin Cook on Sunday, but it was the defense that sealed the game. While the Green Bay Packers had a chance to drive down the field and win, D.J. Wonnum forced a fumble on Aaron Rodgers to secure the upset victory for the Vikings.

It was a crushing hit:

We've seen Rodgers complete a handful of game-winning or game-tying touchdowns on the final play of the game. But Wonnum wasn't going to let Rodgers magic take place, sacking the All-Pro quarterback and forcing the fumble.

Wonnum, a fourth-round rookie, is getting more playing time due to the Vikings trading Yannick Ngakoue. Ngakoue was traded to the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the week, leaving Minnesota thinner at the edge rusher position — especially with Danielle Hunter out for the season.

Even though Cook deserves the game ball, Wonnum should get some praise for his efforts on the final play of the game. The Vikings are still in trouble at 2-5 on the season, but this win saves them for the time being and could be just the momentum shifter they needed to turn things around.
