Rudy Gay has been outspoken about the way the Sacramento Kings do business. He wants consistency and he says the Kings “don't have that here at all.”

Gay isn't entirely wrong, but his comments have provoked a response from Kings general manager Vlade Divac.

Divac initially acted like he hadn't heard Gay's comments, but then had this to say:

“He has my number,” Divac told CSN California. “If I do something, I will call him. Obviously, if I didn’t call him, we didn’t do anything.”

The Kings brought in eight new players this summer through the draft and free agency. Throughout it all, Gay has heard his name mentioned in multiple trade rumors. It's even been reported that Gay has requested a trade himself.

Gay is under contract this season and then has a player option for the next. Things are going to have to change quickly for him to want to hang around.

Divac maintains that he's not trying to keep Gay out of the loop and will call him if something “big” happens:

“Look, I was a player, 16-17 years in the league, nobody called me everyday and tell me what management is doing,” Divac said. “Management was doing their job. If something big happened, they called and told me. Obviously, nothing big happened (so) I’m not going to call anybody.”
