We don't know yet the form or name, but a Warcraft Mobile game will be coming this year, which could be a Warcraft iOS, Warcraft Android, or Warcraft APK.

This piece of news shouldn't be new to anyone who's keeping an eye on the Warcraft IP. After all, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has revealed in 2021 that multiple mobile games based on the Warcraft IP are, at that point, already in advanced development. Now, in a more recent earnings call, Activision Blizzard disclosed to investors that a Warcraft mobile game will be coming out sometime this 2022.

“Blizzard is planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and getting all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time,” reads Activision Blizzard’s 2021 Q4 earnings press release.

While the true nature of the Warcraft game isn't revealed yet, we could guess that it won't be a 1-to-1 port of any of the games in the Warcraft IP. It could be something like Diablo Immortal, a downsized version of Diablo. Or it could be a spin-off game that is more suited for mobile, like a Warcraft-skinned Clash of Clans-like game. With MMORPGs gaining traction in the mobile space, we could also imagine Activision Blizzard bringing World of Warcraft to phones. We don't know yet if it's going to be a Warcraft iOS or Warcraft Android game, but we'd definitely get Warcraft APK files if the latter gets the green light.
