A multitude of reports surfaced about Golden State Warriors star shooting guard Klay Thompson's return. There were actual dates suggested and more. But before Sunday's game against the Toronto Raptors, Warriors coach Steve Kerr refuted the reports about Thompson. He told the media, “I don't know where that came from.”

After Tuesday's practice, the first thing Kerr did was clear the air on what he meant to say about Thompson.

“When I said I don't know where that came from, I was referring to when he was coming back. I probably just anticipated a question that didn't come, so that's my fault. I just wanted to make sure everybody was on the same page,” Kerr told ClutchPoints.

Thompson has been fully cleared for practice, and Kerr and others say he looks good. The main thing right now is getting his conditioning ready to compete in an NBA game. That's very important because when you are tired, you don't shoot the ball as well. It's one of the reasons Thompson has to be in tip-top shape before returning. The team will need his shooting and experience down the road.

Although Thompson's date to return isn't set yet, it's getting closer. The team is eager, and so are fans. But nobody is more anxious or excited than the Warriors sniper himself.

He understands that he still has a long way to go before being his old self again, but he plans to get back to playing at an All-Star level. But the number one thing on Thompson's mind is helping the Warriors win an NBA championship. Reaching that goal can be sooner than people think.
