It's highly-expected that the Golden State Warriors will be ferocious in fortifying their core with hopes of returning back to title contention. Among the star players they could potentially lure in is Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal. But according to the team's general manager, the star guard not going anywhere. In fact, they intend to build around him.

Wizards general manager Tommy Sheppard shut down rumors that they intend to give up Beal — whom analysts believe the Warriors go after in the offseason. As transcribed by Brian Witt of NBC Sports.

“We're building this team around Bradley Beal,” Wizards general manager Tommy Sheppard told ESPN's Zach Lowe on Thursday on the “Lowe Post” podcast. “He's a tremendous human being. He's a tremendous player. He's exactly what we want to have here with the Washington Wizards.”

The Warriors have the second overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. Many believe that they will insert this asset into a trade package in exchange for a big-name player.

While they could do without adding another star into the fray, the Warriors have displayed a penchant for creating a powerhouse squad. Just recall the 2016 offseason when they lured in Kevin Durant into the fold. The result was immediate as they won two titles in three tries.

But given Sheppard's bold missive, it seems that the Warriors have little to no chance of getting Beal. It's not the end of the world as there are lots of players out in the field. The Wizards, for their part, have to carry out their promise of building a solid roster around him.
