The Golden State Warriors continue to be one of the teams most heavily linked to making a huge offseason splash. They have a rare combination of win-now superstars and a war chest of assets at their disposal to warrant heavy speculation on the trade front.

There has been one constant in all the hypothetical trade scenarios surrounding the Warriors this offseason: Andrew Wiggins. His huge contract serves as the perfect salary cap match for any potential big-name player.

“It is so easy to trade people 50 times on paper,” said Warriors exec Kirk Lacob.

Kirk Lacob recently made an appearance on the Dubs Talk podcast. The Warriors executive VP of basketball operations spoke out on how their front office deals with all the trade buzz surrounding Andrew Wiggins:

“Look, we are always honest with guys too. I have talked to Andrew's agent many, many times over the last year, and he will call and say ‘hey, you know I'm hearing this' and I'm always [to Andrew] like ‘look, you should feel very comfortable here, you are very well-liked. Am I going to tell you that you will never get traded at any point? No, I would never tell anybody that,” the Warriors exec detailed.

“We tell everyone that,” he continued. “We never want to lie to someone. Now that doesn't mean that is what they want to hear, but we don't want to lie to a player or agent because that looks bad if something does happen, even if it is a remote chance.”

The Warriors have been a top-notch organization for a long time, which has translated to on-court successes. A big part of that is how you communicate with your players. Lacob revealed the hard truth that Wiggins hasn't gotten any promises that he won't be traded this offseason. While that isn't something you want to hear as a player, it's better than being blindsided when you're hearing otherwise.

Golden State has remained active on the trade front, as they're rumored to be dangling their lottery picks in exchange for proven talent. Wiggins is more than likely part of this discussions now and going forward.
