The Golden State Warriors managed to weather the storm of a sudden non-contact injury for Kevin Durant, as he departed with two minutes left in the third quarter after holding onto his lower leg after making a baseline jump shot.

Veteran Andre Iguodala praised DeMarcus Cousins for his contributions, helping the rest of the players keep things in perspective and focused on the task at hand.

“It was an initial shock,” said Iguodala of Durant's injury. “DeMarcus Cousins did a really good job of settling everyone back down a little bit. Saying: ‘alright, you'll be fine — go play your game'”

“He sent that message and I think it got across to all the guys.”

Durant's injury was initially believed to be a torn Achilles, but a quick update soon showed he was dealing with a right calf strain and would not return to the game.

Tied at the end of the third quarter, the Warriors managed to tread water and pulled off a 104-99 win in a heart-pumping finish — yet another single-digit result in this incandescent series.

Durant is unlikely to play in Game 6, as he will remain in the Bay Area for treatment and an MRI that will further show the extent of his injury.

The Warriors will have to travel to Houston for Friday's game, hoping to pull off a series-closing win on the road, but still having the benefit of home court in a potential Game 7, should things go south for the defending champions.
