Over the past few days, the NBA has been showing some Hardwood classics to cover up for the abrupt suspension of the 2019-20 season due to the coronavirus outbreak. On Friday, the NBA featured Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry's history-making 3-point shooting night against the New Orleans Pelicans in November 2016. Former Warriors forward Andre Iguodala caught a glimpse of the replay and admitted publicly on his Instagram that he, while wondering why the entire Oracle Arena was going nuts, wasn't aware that Curry broke the record for most 3-pointers in a game.

Andre Iguodala, now with the Miami Heat, never fails to amuse us all.

At the time, Curry set the record for most triples in a game with 13. The two-time league MVP broke the previous record set by Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall, who both had 12 in a game. Of course, his own teammate Klay Thompson, set the current single-game 3-point record a season later when he made 14 threes in a game against the Chicago Bulls.

Curry finished with 46 points on this historic night and went 13-of-17 from beyond the arc. He made his then record-setting triple with 2:23 remaining in the fourth quarter. Prior to this magnificent performance, Curry went 0-of-10 from downtown in their previous contest.

Despite playing for a different organization, Iguodala continues to have strong ties with the Warriors. The 36-year old spent six seasons in Oakland, where he won three championships, including a Finals MVP in 2015, as Golden State's primary defender on the opposing team's best perimeter player.

Through 413 games with the Dubs, Iguodala put up nightly averages of 7.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. Those may seem like pedestrian stats. However, Iggy's value to Golden State's run of dominance cannot be encapsulated through his numbers alone.
