Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala has been making headlines of late, but not for his play on the court. In an interview with Sam Amick of The Athletic, Iguodala pointed out how good he believes Jrue Holiday is defensively.

During the interview, Warriors forward Andre Iguodala claims Jrue Holiday is massively underrated and that he should be a 3-time Defensive Player of the Year Award winner.

“You can write this down. Jrue Holiday should have three Defensive Player of the Year (awards), and he should be first-team All-Defensive for the last nine years.

Winning three Defensive Player of the Year Awards is a lot, but claiming he should be first-team All Defense the last nine years running, that truly speaks to how high a regard Warriors' Iguodala holds Holiday. When pressed on the issue, he brought Kevin Durant into the conversation.

I don’t care. You can ask — who’s the best scorer in the league? Who’s the most gifted scorer in basketball history… Ask (Durant) who’s the hardest guard — who’s the guy who gives him the toughest time…
And Kevin Durant is like, ‘Yo, Jrue Holiday is different.’ You see what happened (with Team USA) in the Olympics when Jrue Holiday got there? But I’m crazy, right?”

The Athletic posted the responses on social media.

Any die hard NBA fan knows how good Jrue Holiday is defensively. He has quick feet, can stay in front of almost anyone and has great instincts. But his physicality is truly what separates him. In today's NBA where everyone has handles, it has become very difficult to slow down point guards off the dribble.

Holiday is the one guy you can count on to lock someone down. Even while he struggled during the NBA Finals offensively, on the other side of the court he was balling out. He brings the energy and intensity that is needed to dominate every night.
