Andre Iguodala is returning to the Golden State Warriors, where he's planning to end his career. Iguodala made his announcement Friday and is excited about being back to the place where he previously won three championships.

Iguodala took to Twitter after the news broke. Noted GIF/meme extraordinaire Josiah Johnson had the perfect reaction to Iguodala returning to the Warriors to play with Stephen Curry again, and the veteran noticed:

Iguodala first went to the Warriors in 2013-14 after his stint with the Denver Nuggets and immediately became a key contributor. He then came off the bench in 2014-15, which helped spark a championship run. The veteran won Finals MVP in 2015 for his valiant efforts offensively and against LeBron James.

The 37-year-old then continued to play an important role over the next four seasons, with the Warriors making four more Finals appearances and two more titles. Golden State then traded Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies in order to make room for D'Angelo Russell.

Iguodala never played for the Grizzlies and was ultimately traded to the Miami Heat in 2019-20. The veteran agreed to an extension as part of the trade, but the Heat just recently declined his $15 million team option for 2021-22.

That gave Iguodala the opportunity to return to Golden State. He's thrilled to play with his old buddies again, and Stephen Curry has to be excited as well. The veteran will be a key leader in the locker room and should be a good mentor for the young prospects on the roster.

The Warriors are hoping to return to contention after their play-in disappointment in 2020-21. Klay Thompson will be back at some point, and now Iguodala is back in the fold. Golden State should be right there in the playoff mix.
