Andrew Bogut has agreed to return to the Golden State Warriors, recently receiving his letter of clearance from the Australian Basketball League and the NBA, his agent David Bauman of ISE told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Bogut, who is coming off an MVP season upon his return to his native land, is expected to hammer out a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum to help his former team through the rest of the regular season and postseason after leaving the NBA for this overseas venture.

The 7-footer is expected to hold a formal press conference soon with his soon-to-be former team, the Sydney Kings, to announce his move back to the NBA.

The Warriors expect to sign Bogut in the next day or two, according to Mark Medina of The Mercury News. At that time, the team will have more clarity as to when he will join them.

Bogut was part of the Warriors' initial championship run that saw them walk away with the title after a 4-2 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015, a win that started the current title tear Golden State has been on ever since.

The Aussie big man was traded to the Dallas Mavericks following a loss to the Cavs in the 2016 NBA Finals. Since, Bogut has only appeared in 51 games while playing with three different teams.

Even former teammate Stephen Curry was surprised to hear he was a serious consideration for the team, bearing in mind players 30 years or older often go overseas and no longer return to the NBA.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics were among the other teams vying for Bogut's services before it became known the Warriors had come to a verbal agreement with the 33-year-old big dipper.
