Klay Thompson's free agency hasn't generated as big a buzz for a player of his caliber, but his Golden State Warriors teammate thinks it's due to how he has handled the process all around. Andrew Bogut made the quick distinction between him and other pending free agents who have tread water differently (cough, Kevin Durant — cough, Kyrie Irving), while Thompson has remained rooted in his conviction to remain with the team all along.

“The media, I think, give him a little bit of a break as far as over-speculating and throwing him into the fire because he hasn't really fueled it — at all,” said Andrew Bogut, who has been Thompson's teammate for five seasons over his two stints with the team, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell.

“You've never heard him say anything bad about wanting to leave here or going to another team or being the No. 1 option. You've never even heard that off the record. Some players say the right thing publicly but have different feelings [in private]. He completely wants to be here and he gets it that this is a very rare situation.”

Klay Thompson is a rare egg indeed, one unbothered by the attention his teammate Stephen Curry might get in headlines and highlight reels, rather happy to be with a winning organization and take part in the pursuit of championships, as he has over the last few years.

This is why when rumors of Thompson feeling like there were only “crumbs” left to him (per ESPN's Steven A. Smith), they were met with some resistance, given how that is inconsistent with his actual demeanor.
