San Francisco, CA – Thursday, Golden State Warriors standout Andrew Wiggins received some amazing news. He couldn't have received the information in a better way either. He was at home doing the most relaxing thing you can possibly do when he found out that he would be a starter, in this year's All-Star Game.

“It was mind-blowing,” Wiggins told ClutchPoints. “I was taking my little pregame nap, and then my girl and my daughter woke me up and said you're a starter! you're a starter! I thought I was dreaming for a second.”

After being selected to be an All-Star for the first time in his career, Wiggins shared that he's been thinking about if he would make it or not. He's having arguably the best season of his career. But you never know how the voting will go. This year it went in his favor. He and his Warriors teammates are extremely happy about the outcome.

This season Wiggins is averaging 18.1 points on 48.3 percent shooting from the field. He is also hitting a career-high 41.2 percent from deep.

The Warriors are 36-13, second best record in the NBA. Wiggins has played a major role in their success. Over the last two seasons, he became the team's best two-way player, and he is responsible for guarding the biggest offensive threat on the opposing team.

The 71st NBA All-Star Game is hosted by the Cleveland Cavaliers this year. They're the team that drafted Wiggins in 2014, but they traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love. He didn't play a single regular-season game for the franchise.

This year, Wiggins returns to the place where his career started, but this time he's coming back as an NBA All-Star.
