Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, together with wife Ayesha, announced that they will be giving a generous donation to ensure that underprivileged children will still have access to food amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) threat sweeping the world.

In a clip posted on Curry's social media accounts on Friday, the power couple addressed the city of Oakland's decision to close schools because of the growing COVID-19 pandemic. Steph and Ayesha, through their Eat.Learn.Play Foundation, will make sure that all 18,000-plus children will still receive their two or more meals daily.

Stephen Curry, of course, remains one of the biggest superstars in the league today despite his lengthy absence with the Warriors this season. He makes the most of his global status by giving back to the community in every way he can.

Ayesha, a New York Times best-selling author and TV host, also shares the same passion of helping out those in need.

The Eat. Learn. and Play Foundation was launched by Steph and Ayesha in June last year. It is a family-founded charity with a mission to help end childhood hunger, ensure universal access to quality education and enable healthy and active lifestyles. The couple has three children, Riley, Ryan, and Canon.

Stephen, meanwhile, just came back from a lengthy wrist injury just a few days before the NBA announced its league-wide suspension of games. He returned with a 23-point performance in the Warriors’ 121-113 defeat to the defending champions Toronto Raptors last week.

The two-time MVP was once again sidelined with the seasonal flu, just right before the coronavirus crisis hit the league.
