Former NBA star Baron Davis might have been a staple of the “We Believe” Golden State Warriors era, but he had some critical remarks for a fellow member of Dubs Nation.

Davis went after Warriors forward Draymond Green after Green previously said he felt he was the best defender in NBA history. “B Diddy” joked on the latest Dubs Talk podcast Draymond cannot even guard him in retirement:

“As far as ranking him, I think he is one of the best of his era. Can Draymond Green guard me? Absolutely not,” Davis said, via Grant Liffman of NBC Sports Bay Area. “He couldn't stop me in the summer league at UCLA two years ago, he got mad at me. I was locking him up, I was saying I was the ‘Baby Draymond'. He kept calling fouls but he can't score on me. He tried to post me up, and I kept yelling “I'm Baby Draymond!” and he was getting pissed.”

Green's comments resulted in a fair amount of backlash from the NBA community.

Six-time NBA All-Defense member Tony Allen had a rather humorous Twitter exchange with Green, alluding to the former Defensive Player of the Year is a weakness on defense.

It was all in good fun between the two, however.

The Inside The NBA team also discussed Green's comments. Chris Webber said that the Warriors' power forward should feel that way as a competitor, though he listed a host of names he felt more worthy of GOAT defender status.

Former Chicago Bulls star and noted defensive stalwart Scottie Pippen also questioned Green's statement.

Such statements are part of Green's character. The nine-year Warriors veteran has always displayed unwavering faith in his own abilities as a second-round pick who became a critical piece of the Warriors dynasty.

However, Davis and others clearly take issue with this particular claim.
