The Golden State Warriors are on a warpath back to NBA contention next season. Not only are they getting back Klay Thompson from injury, but they've also enlisted the help of their former veteran leader in Andre Iguodala.

Warriors GM Bob Myers recently dropped a hint on Andre Iguodala's potential role for the upcoming season. He's apparently not just going to be a trusted voice in the locker room – he might still be a closer.

Via Anthony Slater of The Athletic:

Myers on Andre Iguodala, whom the Warriors signed this week: “I wouldn’t be shocked if he still finishes games.”

Iguodala has clearly lost a step when it comes to athleticism as he's entering his age-38 season in the league. Despite advancing in age, Iggy still found himself on a contending team in the Miami Heat. He filled a significant role for them, with his playing time hovering around 20 minutes per contest. Expect the same workload as he makes his way back in the Warriors' rotation.

Andre Iguodala has never been one to post huge numbers. In six seasons with Golden State, he doesn't even have a double-digit scoring average. But he's a proven winner who knows how to make the right plays and isn't afraid to hit big shots. It's a safe bet that he'll show that once again next season.
