The Golden State Warriors quickly popped as a potential landing spot for Kevin Durant amid his trade request from the Brooklyn Nets. Durant, of course, won a pair of titles with Golden State during his initial stint with the team, and it sounds like he would be open to rejoining the Warriors to try to win another title.

Unfortunately for Durant, Warriors general manager Bob Myers shot down rumors linking Durant to a trade back to Golden State, implying that he would like to give his current squad a chance to run it back next season and repeat as champions.

“I like our team where it's at,” Warriors GM Bob Myers told Mark Medina of NBA.com. “I want to give the guys a chance to do it again. It's a good group. We're lucky. It'll be fun to see. We were really hunting last year. Now I guess we are back to being the hunted, which I didn't think we'd be. We'll see. I think we can handle it.”

Myers' comments should all but rule out Golden State as a suitor for Durant moving forward this offseason. The Warriors certainly have the assets to offer the Nets a trade package that could entice them, but that appears to be off the table now.

And, realistically, who could blame the Warriors for not wanting to break up their core that just won a title? Adding Durant would be nice, but it may disrupt the momentum they currently have. As the Durant trade rumors continue to roll on this offseason, it looks like we can cross of the Warriors as a potential destination for the Nets star forward, though never say never.
