Ex-NBA player Dahntay Jones believes that DeMarcus Cousins might mess up the Golden State Warriors, given the center's motivations.

Per FOX Sports, Jones — who won a title with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 — believes that Cousins' intentions of getting a max contract might get in the way of the team's chemistry:

Cousins has been out since January 2018 due to a torn left Achilles. After a year of recovery, he's expected to don the Warriors jersey for the first time on Friday against the LA Clippers. Fans and the rest of the NBA have been waiting patiently for his debut, and the Warriors' starting five just might be the best ever assembled in NBA history.

Cousins is currently signed to a one-year, $5.3 million deal with the Warriors. It's a ludicrous contract given Cousins' stature as one of the best centers in the NBA. Given this fact, analysts believe that he'll exert all the effort needed to put up necessary numbers to gain a max contract.

However, since it would be impossible for the Warriors to unload another hefty deal, they believe that DeMarcus Cousins is just a one-year rental. Hopefully, though, he wins that ring he so desperately wants.

Fans should keep their eyes peeled to find out if Dahntay Jones' hypothesis turns out to be true or not.
