Golden State Warriors guard D'Angelo Russell is looking forward to learning from two of the best shooters the NBA has ever seen.

Russell was traded to the Warriors last week as part of the sign-and-trade deal that sent Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets. The 23-year-old guard is expected to be the running mate of Stephen Curry for the time being while Klay Thompson recovers from his ACL injury, which could sideline him until February or March next year.

There are some people who believe that the trio can lead the Warriors to success, while others believe that D'Lo won't even finish the season with Golden State.

But for D'Lo, the opportunity to play with Curry and (potentially) Thompson is what's important for him at the moment. Per Michael Scotto of The Athletic, Russell said that learning from the Splash Brothers is definitely one of the things that he's looking forward to the most next season.

“I look at it as a learning opportunity as well being around two of the best players in the league,” Russell said. “I think it’s a learning thing I can use. I can just learn from them on and off the court, how they carry themselves. A lot of things like that. I’m attacking it like that.”

Russell has also heard the rumors of him possibly being traded in the middle of the season, but he's not too worried because if all things go the Warriors' way, the trio of him, Curry and Thompson can create wonders for the team.

“I think it’ll be special,” the one-time All-Star added. “When you add guys that can shoot to your team I think you already get better and you’re just adding a piece to their core that they already have. I think it’ll really be special.”

The Warriors are still a team that's good enough to make the playoffs, and who knows? If Russell indeed fits well with the greatest shooting backcourt in NBA history, we might just see them make the Finals for the sixth consecutive season.

Of course, that is wishful thinking. But can you honestly count them out this early? Nope. They're still a force in the West, and they've just added one of the fastest rising stars in the league. Barring any additional injuries, this team could shock the NBA.
