Golden State Warriors point guard D'Angelo Russell says he has learned a lot from Los Angeles Lakers veteran Rajon Rondo in terms of how to take care of your body in the offseason.

Russell, who is part-time vegan, admits he has gotten a lot of food advice from Rondo, who will enter his 14th year in the NBA next season.

“I’m part-time vegan. I try to be vegan when I can,” Russell told GQ. “But I dip and dive in everywhere. I’m not really a bad eater—I try to stay away from that as much as I can. I’m trying to get the most out of my calories.

“I would say [Rajon] Rondo. Rondo’s one of the guys that I’ve seen take care of his body in the offseason. I’ve seen him with the chefs and the meal preps, and I’ve just seen his work ethic. He’s definitely someone I’ve gotten a lot of jewels from.”

D'Angelo Russell is entering his first season with the Warriors after playing with the Brooklyn Nets the past two seasons.

Russell averaged 21.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists for the Nets in 2018-19, all while shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.
