D'Angelo Russell did not exactly spend a whole lot of time with the Golden State Warriors. He was signed-and-traded there back in July, played there for a few months and was then traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the deadline in February.

However, Russell enjoyed is stay in the Bay, even if it was very brief:

“The culture they had over there, you see why they win,” Russell said on Instagram live. “They just do it right, there’s a lot of special basketball minds that drive that ship over there. It was dope, I enjoyed the whole experience.”

In 33 games with the Warriors, the guard averaged 23.6 points, 6.2 assists and 3.7 rebounds over 32.1 minutes per game while shooting 43 percent from the floor, 37.4 percent from three-point range and 78.5 percent from the free-throw line in what was probably the most productive stretch of his NBA career.

Through 12 contests with the Timberwolves prior to the league being suspended, Russell was logging 21.7 points, 6.6 assists, 4.6 boards and 1.4 steals across 32.7 minutes a night while making 41.2 percent of his field-goal attempts, 34.5 percent of his long-distance tries and 87.3 percent of his foul shots.

Russell, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was originally selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the second overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft.

He spent his first couple of seasons with the Lakers and experienced varying degrees of success, but ultimately, Los Angeles traded him to the Brooklyn Nets during the summer of 2017 to clear room for Lonzo Ball, whom the franchise had just drafted.

Russell made one All-Star appearance with the Nets last season.
