Golden State Warriors point guard D'Angelo Russell says he's “getting to see a lot of different parts” about the business side of the NBA.

Russell will be playing for his third team in five years next season. The new Warriors guard played two seasons each with the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.

“Oh man, I’m getting to see a lot of different parts of it,” Russell told Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype. “Throughout my free agency, I got to see part of it. I’m looking forward to seeing more. I think it’s something you have to learn as a player and something you have to go through… I only know what I know. I guess I don’t know what a normal free agency is. I just know we got the deal done.”

D'Angelo Russell was the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Magic Johnson traded him in the summer of 2017 because he said he needed a leader at the point guard spot.

After having his breakout year last season with the Nets, Russell thought he was going to stay in Brooklyn for the long-haul, but the Nets signed star point guard Kyrie Irving in free agency. The Nets and Warriors agreed to a sign-and-trade deal involving two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant which sent Russell to Golden State and KD to Brooklyn.

He's only 23, but Russell has been traded two times already, so he's getting used to the business side of the league. The lefty signed a four-year, $117 million contract with the Warriors. It will be interesting to see if Russell gets to play out that contract in Golden State.
