If anyone's wondering why DeMarcus Cousins — a multiple-time All-Star center who's still barely into his prime – decided to sign for peanuts with the Golden State Warriors, it's because he apparently did not get much (or any) offers.

The former New Orleans Pelican uploaded a video clip to his Twitter feed (filmed by Showtime) in which he explained his frustrations in colorful fashion and how the lack of offers made him lose sleep.

According to Cousins, an offer wasn't extended by the Pelicans — possibly a result of the team taking the offer off the table that they made before the season started.

“Earlier this morning, through last night, I was fucked up. I was fucked up. I’ve been up for two days straight, honestly. I’ve been up for two days straight. We reached out to teams. Pelicans, there was no offer. I understand. A big year and you don’t want to ruin it taking a chance on a damaged player.”

Their attempts to call other teams were similarly rebuffed.

“We reached out to some other teams. We got answers like we don’t believe it’s a good fit, or we gotta see what we’re doing with out rosters right now. Just kind of bullshit answers. And then there were some that were just flat-out, we can’t take that risk.”

As for his critics? The 28-year-old insists he doesn't care what they think.

“I could have probably got a decent contract from a bad team, but how does that help me? I’m already fighting a career-ending injury. I knew how it would be perceived from some. I don’t give a fuck.”

Concerns about the big man's torn Achilles is understandable although there have been free agents recently (such as Rudy Gay and Wesley Matthews) that have shown that there is still no shortage of suitors for players recovering from such a gruesome injury.

Nonetheless, Cousins should be able to rebuild his stock on a one-year make-good contract with the Warriors who probably won't miss him much the first few months he's not around.
