DeMarcus Cousins' stay in the Bay Area will almost surely be limited to one season. Even so, the Golden State Warriors star is doing all he can to actively engage with the local community. Cousins posted a tweet on Friday featuring a cryptic video of an upcoming event at Oakland's Paramount Theater on April 11th.

The Paramount was built in 1931 as the largest multi-purpose theater on the West Coast. It's become an institution of sorts ever since, playing frequent host to notable singers, bands, comedians, lecturers, and more.

It's unclear what event that Cousins, quietly one of the league's most charitable players, is promoting here. The replies of many twitter users suggest he'll be announcing his decision to re-sign with the Warriors next season, though that's almost certainly not the case. Cousins signed a one-year deal with Golden State last summer while he continued recovering from an achilles tear, meaning the team doesn't possess the ability to exceed the salary cap to re-sign him come June. Both parties, barring further injury, knew full well that Cousins' stint with the Warriors would be brief.

Golden State has been the league's best team since the big man made his season debut on January 18th, going 11-2 with a league-leading +9.1 net rating. Cousins has played in all but one game, the second leg of a back-to-back, since then, averaging 14.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3. 7 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.2 steals in just 23.7 minutes per game. The success of both he and the Warriors is especially encouraging considering Cousins has yet to to find his shot, shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from beyond the arc.
