The Golden State Warriors, despite their early struggle, are still considered the best team in the league, and they'll soon have added reinforcement. Center DeMarcus Cousins, acquired by the Dubs this offseason, is recovering from a torn Achilles but hopes to return soon.

However, he will be making a pit-stop before donning the Golden State jersey.

That said, the All-Star center is in high spirits as he nears a return to the court.

The G-League is a great spot to rehab and truly test how ready one player is for NBA ball. The Warriors would be smart to give DeMarcus Cousins a few reps in Santa Cruz before throwing him into an NBA game.

Cousins hasn't played since Jan. 26, so it would make sense that he is rusty after almost a full year off.

Before his injury, DeMarcus Cousins was putting together a monster season for the New Orleans Pelicans. Through 48 games, he averaged 25.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game.

Cousins has developed a serviceable three-pointer to go along with his bruising post game, beating opponents from behind the arc and in the paint. While he is no splash brother, he can become another dominant scorer for a stacked Warriors squad.

There is no questioning that Cousins was one of the most dominant centers in the league, if not the most dominant, before his injury. If he can return to be anywhere close to the player that he once was, the Warriors will be even harder to beat than before.
