DeMarcus Cousins may have to take on a lesser role with the Golden State Warriors. He's been a primary scorer for most of his career. But with teammates like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant, Boogie won't need to put up as many shots.

For Cousins, this isn't an issue. If anything he thinks it's a positive.

Cousins said:

“I'm sure there will be many games where I have just four attempts. There may be some games where I'm the leading scorer. I look at that as a positive. I don't have to be the guy every night. I've dealt with that my entire career. I've always wanted a team where everything doesn't rely on me and now I'm in that position.”

There's no doubt that Cousins will be fine with a lesser role than he's used to if it means he can win a championship.

DeMarcus Cousins also talked about the high potential of this team. When Cousins returns from injury, the Warriors will start five All-Stars. He mentioned the team's high potential, but also mentioned the need to put in the work needed to realize that potential.

Boogie also talked briefly about the experience he has with his teammates from playing on Team USA together. That previous experience on the court together could go a long way towards helping build chemistry with his new Warriors teammates.

The Warriors have an embarrassment of riches in terms of talent. When healthy, Cousins is capable of being the best player on many NBA teams, but with Golden State he'll be the third-best player on the team at best.
