Golden State Warriors All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins says he talked with Washington Wizards point guard John Wall and he has no doubt Wall will overcome this setback and come back stronger.

The Wizards announced on Tuesday that Wall developed an infection in the incision from surgery he recently had on bone spurs in his left heel and ruptured his Achilles after slipping and falling while at home. Cousins tore his Achilles last season with the New Orleans Pelicans, so he wanted to call his pal to give him some words of encouragement.

In the seven games he has appeared in this season with the Warriors, DeMarcus Cousins is averaging 14.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest. The four-time All-Star doesn't look that rusty and he had a monster dunk on Los Angeles Lakers swingman Kyle Kuzma, so his explosiveness is definitely back.

It's going to be a long rehab process for John Wall. For a player who uses his speed and athleticism so much, many are skeptical if Wall will ever be the same player again. The former No. 1 overall pick averaged 20.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game this season for the Wizards before he had season-ending surgery on his heel.

Cousins and Wall are very close friends off the court and played together at Kentucky, so Boogie wanted to check up on his guy to make sure he was in good spirits.
