Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins texted power forward Draymond Green after Game 1 of the NBA Finals, asking for Green and the rest of his teammates to trust him.

Head coach Steve Kerr started Cousins in Game 2 and the bold move paid off. Cousins finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in 28 minutes in the Warriors' Game 2 win.

It was a big performance from Boogie, who was playing in just his second game after tearing his left quad back on April 15.

“He texted me after Game 1,” Green told Tim Kawakami of The Athletic late Sunday. “He said, ‘Yo, I’ve been waiting on this moment. I’m ready for the moment. You gotta trust me.’ Well, Coach showed he trusted him and we all trusted him and he played big for us.”

You have to feel so good for Cousins. This is a guy who has suffered two big injuries two years in a row, but he keeps getting back up for the love of the game.

When Cousins got hurt in Game 2 of the Warriors' first round series against the Los Angeles Clippers, everyone thought Boogie was done for the season. Now, the All-Star big man is back and playing on the NBA's biggest stage, helping the Warriors win a crucial Game 2 along the way.
