Four-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins sent shockwaves across the NBA landscape when news of his deal with the Golden State Warriors broke earlier this month. The Dubs offered Boogie a one-year, $5.3 million mid-level exception, which he accepted. Now, with introductions in full swing, news of what number the former Kentucky Wildcat will wear has been released.

According to a report from Logan Murdock of The Mercury News, Cousins will sport the number 0 for his new team.

Cousins, now 27, last played for the New Orleans Pelicans, though his season was cut short by a torn left Achilles tendon. In 48 games played during the 2017-18 campaign, the former No. 5 overall pick racked up averages of 25.2 points on 47.0 percent shooting from the field (35.4 percent from beyond the arc), 12.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.6 steals in 36.2 minutes per outing.

Some people weren't happy with Cousins joining the Warriors. After all, it's a team that has a plethora of talent on their roster, including four All-Stars in Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Golden State's addition of Boogie seems to have rubbed some folks the wrong way.

For the record, Cousins is not trying to hear that noise. In fact, he seems to be getting a kick out of the hateful reactions.

“I knew how it would be perceived from some,” Cousins said during a trailer for a soon-to-be-released documentary from Showtime Sports. “I don’t give a f**k. I’m saying it now that I’ve seen the reaction that I didn’t give a f**k. I knew what my ace was, and we made the call.

“There’s some motherf*****s out there that’s probably ripping their hair out right now, and I love it,” Cousins continued. “It’s just another test for me to overcome. I’ve been through so much adversity, if I sat there and dwelled on those moments, where the f**k would I be right now? I don’t need anybody feeling sorry for me. I’m a fighter, I never give up, and I’m taking this challenge head on.”

There's a good chance Cousins won't be suiting up for the Dubs right away, as he'll still be recovering from injury. However, it sounds like he's eager to prove his naysayers wrong.
