Draymond Green reveals he agreed to his contract extension with the Golden State Warriors after checking into his hotel in Toronto for Drake's OVO Fest.

Green says he had no idea it was going to happen that morning despite knowing his agent and the Warriors were talking about a possible extension.

“Absolutely. You know, it's been an amazing couple of weeks for me,” Green told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. “The funny thing about going to Toronto is — I was just going to meet the guys out there. You know, I had never been to the OVO Fest, and so I'm, like, I'll just go. And I landed that morning, I was checking into the hotel, and Rich [Paul] come on — [claps] beeline right out the hotel. Like, ‘Come here.' And [snaps] — it just happened like that. Like, I had no idea what was about to happen that morning.”

Draymond Green signed a four-year, $100 million extension with the Warriors. He was set to be an unrestricted free agent after the 2019-20 campaign, but now Green is locked up for the long-haul.

Green, the heart and soul of the Warriors, averaged 7.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.9 assists last season while shooting 44.5 percent from the field and 69.2 percent from the free-throw line.
