All-Star forward Draymond Green has agreed to a four-year, $100 million maximum contract extension with the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

In the wake of the carnage that Kevin Durant's departure had in this roster, the Warriors have opted to keep this core of their best players intact, not only signing an injured Klay Thompson to a five-year, $190 million deal, but also extending Green to keep this dynastic run going.

Green's extension will start on the 2020-21 season and last until the 2023-24 season, amplifying the lifespan of a core of Stephen Curry, Thompson, Green, and D'Angelo Russell, who will make $117 million over the next four years.

The Warriors will have $129 million and $138 million committed to that four-player core during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, respectively.

This new deal will bring the total length and value of his contract to five years and $118 million. This new pact will pay him $22.2 million, $24 million, $25.8 million and $27.6 million over the course of those four extension years.

The Warriors reportedly made the move for Russell in hopes to be able to secure a deal with Green in the future, but not many were banking on it coming this fast into the process. Green maintained he was looking to make the most of his chances as a free agent, but the former Defensive Player of the Year now won't hit free agency at all.

Draymond Green has made his name by stepping up in the playoffs, admittedly calling himself a 16-game player instead of an 82-game player. His numbers speak for themselves — Green averaged 13.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 8.5 assists for the Warriors this last postseason and holds averages of 12.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks in 123 career playoff games.
