There is no doubt that Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki will go down in history as one of the greatest big men to ever play the sport. Speaking to The Athetic's Anthony Slater, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors recently shared their most memorable encounters with the German legend.

“My history with Dirk is him busting my ass,” Green said. “I’m happy I don’t gotta get my ass busted no more.”

Green is not exactly the humblest of personalities in the league, so for him to admit that Nowitzki has been able to do a number on him on a consistent basis, speaks volumes of the level of respect Green has towards Dirk.

As for Iguodala, his memory is much more vivid than that of his Warriors teammate.

“He hit a game-winner on us in Philly,” Iguodala said. “Shit was cold. He almost made Reggie Evans fall. Don’t know what year that was. In Philly. Early game. Like 1 o’clock game.”

Iguodala then began mimicking the Dirk hesitation fadeaway.

“Hit him with the boom … bam,” Iguodala said. “Oooh. Shit was cold. I always liked Dirk. He had a little killer in him. Always liked Dirk. He cool. He mind his business, do his job and get the fuck up outta there.”

Although laced with a bit more profanity, it is clear that Iguodala also holds Nowitzki in very high regard.

Dirk has yet to confirm if he intends to play on next season, so it is very much possible that sadly, his decorated career might come to a close by the end of this season.
