With just two seasons remaining in his current 5-year, $82 million deal with the Golden State Warriors, versatile forward Draymond Green is reportedly on the brink  of hiring Rich Paul as his agent.

This new bit comes from Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports:

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green is close to hiring Rich Paul of Klutch Sports as his basketball representation, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Green will be entering negotiations with the Warriors this summer as he looks to secure his future in the league. After being drafted by the Dubs in 2012 (as a 35th overall pick), the former Michigan State standout proved to be much more valuable than his initial stock value.

The Warriors quickly realized that Green turned out to be a steal, and decided to pay him up in the summer of 2015 — after he helped the Warriors lift their first title in 40 years — to the tune of $82 million. That deal is now nearing its conclusion, and both parties will likely want to iron things out this summer as quickly as possible.

Green's decision is to bring in super agent Rich Paul, as he looks to be adamant in securing another hefty payday. At 28, this may be Green's last opportunity at a huge deal, so you can't really blame him for looking out for himself and his family here.

Paul recently made headlines when he announced that New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis wanted out. Being himself the agent of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, it is not impossible to think that he will somehow play a crucial role IF Davis actually joins the Lakers this summer.

There has been no talks of a potential switch for Green to the purple and gold, but with this recent development, it would not be surprising if a number of outlets begin connecting the dots.
