The Golden State Warriors are giving some of their players a bit of a preseason break. Draymond Green and D'Angelo Russell will not play in Monday night's preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, according to a report from Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle. Stephen Curry is scheduled to play, but he'll likely be given Wednesday night off.

None of these players are listed on the Warriors' injury report, which means head coach Steve Kerr is likely giving them a night off before the start of the regular season.

Curry led the Warriors to victory in Thursday's preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, scoring 40 points on 14-of-19 shooting from the field (6-of-9 from beyond the arc), six assists, six rebounds, two steals and one block in 25 minutes of action. Draymond Green posted eight points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals

D'Angelo Russell joined the Warriors this summer as part of a sign-and-trade deal for Kevin Durant, who eventually wound up with the Brooklyn Nets. The former No. 2 overall pick has played well through the early stages of this preseason. In fact, he racked up 16 points and five assists in Golden State's 143-123 victory over the Timberwolves last week.

“I’m excited [to join the Warriors],” Russell said in an interview with Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype. “I’m beyond excited! They’ve been to five straight Finals and they do nothing but win. That’s something that I’m trying to add to my resume in this league; [I want to] become a winner. I think this is the first step, going to a team of that caliber. I think it’ll work out pretty great too. They have some great coaches and great players to kind of make it all work. I’m ready to get the wheels turning.”

Monday's Warriors-Lakers games is scheduled to tip inside the STAPLES Center at 10:30 p.m. ET, with NBA TV having live broadcast coverage.
