Otto Porter Jr. was just one of a handful of players that the Golden State Warriors have lost to free agency shortly after winning the title this past season. After just one season in Golden State, Porter decided to sign a two-year deal with the Toronto Raptors worth $12.3 million.

Warriors star Draymond Green recently discussed all these departures on a new episode of his podcast. Green revealed how he was delighted for Porter after he signed a new deal with the Raptors. Draymond also shared how Porter's wife is actually from Toronto, thereby serving as a huge factor in his decision to take his talents to Canada:

“I thought that was huge for Otto, I'm very happy for Otto,” Green siad, via Taylor Wirth of NBC Sports. “Congratulations, champ. Otto's wife … being from Toronto, had an opportunity to be in her hometown, I think that's amazing. For Otto to come to the Warriors and re-establish his career the way he did and help us win a championship, we will definitely miss him, his shooting, his length, his competitive nature that he brought to us all year. But get your money, it's all love, congrats my brother. Looking forward to Otto continuing to do great things.”

Last season, Porter was on a veteran's minimum deal with the Warriors that saw him pocket just $2.4 million for the entire season. As Draymond Green said, he successfully resurrected his career in Golden State, earning himself a new deal that is worth more than double his annual salary from 2021-22.

The Raptors will be Otto Porter Jr.'s fifth team after previously having stints with the Washington Wizards, the Orlando Magic, and the Chicago Bulls.
